8 Week MBSR (Mindful Based Stress Reduction) Workshop

Cost: £90.00 to include 116 hours group led participation, handouts relating to all material and MP3 recordings of Meditations for home practice, ongoing support during and after the workshop.

Week One: October 11th Introduction to Mindfulness
Getting to know each other as a member of the group. Defining what Mindfulness is and how it can impact our lives. Exploring the baseline values of Mindfulness.
Week Two: October 18th Coming back to our Senses
We live the majority of our lives in automatic pilot mode, rushing through the day. Mindfulness is about slowing the process of living down to enable us to engage in the moment and connect with what is around us.
Week Three: October 25th Understanding Stress
Stress drives much of our thoughts, emotions, feelings and behaviour. This week focuses on understanding how it does impact us and why. We will look into research that suggests that we can access far more control over the impact of stress than previously thought through the use of meditation and shifts in understanding.
Week Four: November 1st Managing Stress
Understanding the theory is one thing, leaning to manage it is even more important.
Week Five: November 8th Mindfulness of Thoughts
Understanding how our thoughts can dominate our way of being and learning how to slow down thoughts as well as developing techniques for letting them go.
Week Six: November 15th Mindfulness of Emotion
Emotions can be powerful and all-encompassing or hardly noticeable. Whether strong or mild, they can impact hugely on our way of being.
Week Seven: November 22nd Kindness and Compassion
Kindness and compassion runs through the whole program but in this week, we look at it in more details with the emphasis being on SELF compassion.
Week Eight: Npovember 29th Looking Forward
So where do we go from here. The last week is for reviewing the workshop, looking at the shifts that have been experienced and spending time in sharing how you choose to move forward so that Mindfulness becomes an integral part of your life.
The workshop is spent largely in practice with short periods of theory to introduce and clarify the topic of the week. You can expect to spend 70% plus of the time in discussion, group activity, feedback and meditation including gentle movement.
